I love New York. If I could live there, I would be there in a heart beat! I love the hustle and bustle of each day and the energy of every night. Of course, one of my favorite things to do while I am in New York City is to shop and this recent trip was not any different!
I enjoy finding new stores. So, when my friend told me that I had to go to Joe Fresh when I made it to New York, I put it on my list and headed that way. I was a little apprehensive when I saw the extremely reasonable price points on their website and was afraid of quality issues but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this fun store!
I decided to do more research on this little gem after returning home. This Canadian-based company was launched as Joe Fresh Style in 2006 by designer Joseph Mimran and was only offered in major supermarkets. However, as the fashion-forward consumer began to recognize the good quality of these trendy clothes at a great price, the line expanded. It was not long before the line outgrew the supermarket, and the first flagship store was opened as simply Joe Fresh in 2010 in Vancouver.
For anyone going to New York anytime soon...you just MUST check out the newest store at 510 Fifth Avenue (which, incidentally, is adjacent to another of my favorites, Zara International). The atmosphere of the store is light, clean and open. The color scheme was left simple...organic metals with white walls and fixtures to highlight the wonderfully colorful clothing. It was a very reFreshing place to shop. ;)
