Bathing Suit Beauties!

It's hot out there and it's not getting any better any time soon!  I would love to be in a pool right now sipping on something cold...cool water glistening around me...and of course, while I am dreaming, I might as well put myself in a fabulous swimsuit and some kicking wedges.  A girl can't be poolside without looking and feeling her best right!?

Swimsuit shopping can either be a fun experience or utter hell!  We feel our most vulnerable while we are bearing most of what our momma's gave us while the sun is gladly shining on every single bad spot you wish you could hide.  We all have them...but if you get the right swim suit for you...it can make you look and feel like you just stepped on the runway of fashion show!  And don't forget the wedges ladies!  They not only instantly slim you but also help your legs to flex those muscles which make you look fierce!

Speaking of fierce...here are some of my favorite swimsuits of the season that make me feel like a Bo Derek!

Love this Audrina Cream Monokini from Orchid Boutique

Eco Swim Bikini Top and Bottom from Nordstrom

This has Michael Kors written all over it!  I love this MK suit!!!

Love the contrasting colors on this bikini and cover-up by DKNY

This architectural one-piece is by Zero + Maria Cornejo

Leave it to Missoni to create this hip knit suit!

The Maxi Dress

I have always been a fan of the maxi dress and skirt.  They are staples in my closet and the first thing I pull out when I want to be comfortable.  Over these past few years...I have noticed that the world has not only accepted but embraced the idea of keeping these lovelies part of "it list" and I am so happy!

Recently, I have been drooling over these pieces below and hope to add them to my wardrobe soon!

Love this double-slit BCBGMaxAzria skirt

Paprika strapless blouson maxi by Splendid

Can you tell that I love strapless...and orange? I couldn't resist this final one - silk construction with a flowing fluted hem? Yes, please...from Haute Hippie

This just in! Hot new faucet trend

As a designer who specializes in kitchen and bath design, I love finding new products in the marketplace.  Lately, I have noticed an influx of new faucet designs...not unusual, right?  Well, one thing that caught me off guard is the available finishes of these new faucets...

They are all available in white!  While a few of these manufacturers have released a matte white, most have been displaying a crisp, lacquered-looking white.  Oh, and yes...I am in love.

Hansgrohe's PuraVida is stunning in this organic bath.

Dado by Frecan, shown in White

Beautiful Matte White by Ponsi

Dornbracht's tried and true Tara faucet, White Edition

Here's the icing on the cake - One of my favorite hardware manufacturers, DuVerre, has just released a design by William Harvey, Arroyo, available in white!

I think this "trend" may not be so trendy! ;)

Erin Adams for New Ravenna Mosaics

I love finding tile that creates an end product which is more like art than simply a functional tile.  In this fashion, New Ravenna Mosaics never disappoints.

One of my favorite tile designers, Erin Adams, began work on her first collection for New Ravenna Mosaics in 2011.  She has successfully developed patterns not usually seen in tile, like her abstract  "Bottles" design seen below.

Erin Adams Bottles in Moonstone for New Ravenna Mosaics

I love her use of negative space, variety, and color variation.  Oh! The colors...each one of the glass colors in this line has been named after mid-century icons... That makes me smile.

I can not wait to specify one of these for a new kitchen or bath.  But which one to choose....Here are some of my favorites!  Maybe you can help me decide, blog reader...

Forks Knives Spoons shown in Moonstone

Mod Drops shown in Aalto and Eileen

Kente shown in Agate, Opal, Moonstone and Aalto

A Confession...

I have a confession to make...

I'm obsessed with a website and I can't stop it.

What website you ask?  Olioboard

For those of you who understand website obsessions (Ahem...Pinterest), then you will be able to sympathize.  Once you are on this site, it's quite easy to get lost in it for hours at a time.  Ever heard of Polyvore?  Well, Olioboard is a website where you can choose items for your home, in lieu of fashion as on Polyvore, then add them to a virtual room to help you visualize the end product.  The best part is that all of the products are for sale and the site makes it easy to access and order these products through their website.

There is fun to be had...creating custom living rooms, outdoor spaces and more.  Here are some of my favorites from fellow Olioboard members.

This board shows how you can add an actual room from your home and go from there...what a great idea!

Love this board focusing on green with black and white accents from Focal Point Styling.  You don't have to make "room boards" each time.  You can also create a style board.

This is one of my favorite uses for Olioboard...adding artwork in a space to see how it will look!  My clients love this too!

Edward Ferrell - Lewis Mittman

I love a furniture website that shows variety in their styling.  In my job, I spend hours researching furniture and lighting lines and it's so nice to know there are places where I can go and shop for multiple clients with multiple tastes.

Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman shows this variety.  They have been creating luxury furniture for nearly sixty years and have over 100 members to their team.  The style changes within each line, and one of my favorites right now is from the Roger Thomas Collection : Salon.  The names of these pieces allude to the apparent inspiration that was drawn from Hollywood in the 40's - one of my favorite eras. Here are some that made me gasp!
