This is my favorite time of year. No, not the time when we all think about our New Year's Resolutions and get serious about hitting the gym, eating better, being a better person or whatever else it is we always mean to do. No. I'm talking about something else that starts in January...
Awards show time! Or...at least the pre-show on the red carpet. I typically can't watch TV for too long; but, during this time, I can't help but stay glued as I study the gowns that the stars are wearing and try to spot the trends for the year to come.
This year, while watching the Golden Globe Awards, I noticed the fabulously embellished dresses worn by so many on the red carpet. My favorite of these was the amazing pastel Naeem Khan dress worn by Nicole Richie. I started to research some of Khan's dresses and I am in love!
Jennifer Westfeldt in Naeem Khan
Naeem Khan is known for his ornate, intricately detailed, work along with his handmade fabrics. After learning about fabrics and the intricate bead works from his grandfather who was a designer for Indian royalty, he traveled to America in 1976. He then worked with Roy Halston (Halston Heritage, by the way, is one of my personal favorite design houses!) and as a designer for the Riazee label before he started his own line. Khan’s clients include celebrities such as Beyonce and Eva Longoria.
Below are some of my favorite 2013 Naeem Khan gowns!
