Donna Karan Fall RTW 2013

When I saw Donna Karan's NYFW runway, it immediately took me back to the 1980's...but in a good way!  Her use of hosiery, sheer bodysuits, capes and asymmetrical lines is what caused the trip down Memory Lane.  However, while I believe Karan had the 80's on her mind as her source of inspiration, she was looking to the future as the dresses below are nothing but fabulous and something any modern woman would be thrilled to wear.

Alice + Olivia Fall 2013 RTW

I am so excited by this post I can hardly stand it - the photography, the accessories and of course, the clothes!  I adore and own several pieces of Alice + Oliva by the talented Stacey Bendet.  This fabulous line launched back in 2002 at Barney's and has continued to build steam as the years have gone by.

I fell in love with the Fall 2013 Collection and especially enjoy the mixture of casual and dressy.  The use of lace with a classic approach is made hers by the small edgy details on each piece.  I'm obsessed with the layered pieces in the more casual looks.

Oh, So Inspired!

Recently, Waterworks unveiled a new line of fittings, R. W. Atlas.  On my recent trip to Los Angeles, I was able to see them in person.  The collection is stunning!

The line includes over 30 new styles of fittings, fixtures and accessories.  These solid brass pieces are offered in several different finishes, including two newbies - Burnished Nickel and Carbon.  Inspired by industry and utilitarian elements, there are several new forms and textures not yet seen before.

"A groundbreaking, industrial-inspired collection entices with powerful shapes, genuine materials and unique aesthetic details. The original vision and impeccable execution of R.W. Atlas pairs American ingenuity with European craftsmanship."

Absolutely love the details on the accessories.

Happy Planning!

Reem Acra Fall 2013 from New York Fashion Week

Oh My!  I am in love with Reem Acra's Fall 2013 collection.  There is a definite Asian inspiration in the palette of mostly reds, blacks and whites. Love the hints of fishnet in every single look...time to invest in some!

This was a hard one to pick out my favorite pieces...what is your favorite piece, blog reader, out of the ones below?

Topex Hardware Love

There is one thing that I always look forward to when it comes to designing kitchens and baths - the selection of the cabinet hardware.  Just like accessorizing an outfit, the hardware or "accessory" can truly make or break the entire look.

One of my favorite hardware lines happens to be a European line called Topex Hardware.  I love the large scaled pieces, beautiful finishes and sturdy feel.  If that was not already enough to have me sold on these pieces of hardware, their designs are amazing as well.  Below are some of my favorites!

I love the detail and size of this square knob.  The cutout at the center adds an extra dimension.

The patina of this knob has to be one of my favorites.  The best part is the more it wears, the better it gets!

It is available in all of these finishes.

Love this linear pull - an updated twist on the painfully popular tubular pull.

For my clients who love a contemporary look for their cabinet hardware, but don't want to worry about finger prints, I always suggest something with texture.  This particular piece does not disappoint in that department.

The unexpected asymmetrical mount on the knob and the width of the pull is a great approach to contemporary hardware.

This small curve adds a large impact to the design of this pull.

I can not wait to place these new collections in my next designs!

XOXO,
